Why you need a baby sling

Why I love my sling:
* It’s so comfortable.
* I have two hands to do with whatever I want and not have to worry about my baby.
* Portable naps! Oh yes my son sleeps longer in the sling than he does in his own bed.
* My baby is less fussy.
* Hurray for more bonding time!!
* It folds up so small I can take it in my diaper bag and still have room for everything else.
* My back hurts way less wearing the sling than trying to lug around my chubby little man all by myself.
* It’s so versatile! I can carry him around in so many positions.
* It’s really dang cute! I get compliments all the time at the grocery store about it. Buy one and find out for yourself!

Linzi 6/21/09: I will add my two bits! Stephanie's slings are WAY BETTER than anything you will find! They seriously fold up tiny, easy to use (do practice a bit but so fabulous!), and my baby loves being close to me. They are comfortable and I love that people don't try to grab my baby. I am a firm believer that every person needs a Stephanie Almendariz sling. My daughter even has one for her babies! It's nice to have if you babysit a baby also!

Emily 10/10/07: hey, i figured out how to make it work for paul on our hike this weekend, you totally rock! I love this sling! Thanks so much for making it for me. :)

Tanja 11/18/06: Stephanie,I love my sling!! Having just had my 3rd child I thought a sling was cute but not much more..I'd tried a sling from a retail store with by 1st baby and hated it. so I thought slings were terrible. I was so wrong!! Your sling has given me such a gift. I can bond with by baby and spend so much time snuggling and loving him close and still be free to care for my other 2 children and take care of things around the house. It's so comfortable to wear. I use it when we go shopping. This has solved the problem of how to keep 3 small ones close by while shopping. I love that I can put my 2 year old in the sling, too. She loves it. I can keep her from running off and give her attention while I shop!! That's an incredibly wonderful thing. I constantly get comments from women of all ages, even dad's love it. I love that it's so easy to clean. I throw it in the washing machine, lay it out to dry(& it dries fast) and that's it!!! It doesn't shrink or fade. It's fantastic. I wish had your sling with the 1st 2 kids. Thank you so much!!! I give your card to everyone I see because I want to share with them my favorite product for mom's!!Tanja

Shawna 09/28/06: Dear Stephanie, Hey, I got the sling, its awesome! Aubrey is sleeping in it right now, I'm still figuring out how to put it on just right but its already been great to have. Mom and I went to a store yesterday that barely fits a person down the aisles let alone a stroller so we got out the sling and it was perfect!

Fabric Choices

I've included pictures of my in stock fabrics. You can feel free to pick out a design and we can match the reversible side with a coordinating color. My stock stays small so I can offer a larger variety of fabrics. With a few of the colors I only have enough to make one sling so let me know as soon as possible to reserve your fabric before it goes out of stock.

If you would like to pick a fabric of your own and bring it to me that is fine as well. I would need 2 yards for each side of the sling if you would like a reversible dual color sling, and only 2 yards total if you just want to use one color. Honestly the slings are cuter with 2 colors. I'll send you a picture of a few of the models. Once you've decided on a fabric feel free to contact me and I can get to sewing.

How much does it cost & what comes with it?

A little Jo-ees sling costs $35 if you use my fabric and $30 if you provide your own. Your sling will come fully packaged, with instructions and a carabiner. Add Image

Why a carabiner? It's your third hand! Just attatch your keys, a pacifier, or a toy to it and you're good to go!

What size do you need?

Sizing is very important when purchasing a little Jo-ees sling. If the sling is too small, it is difficult to get the baby in and out and the baby will feel too tight against the body. If the sling is too large, the baby will not feel secure and will hang lower on the body causing the wearers legs to bump the baby.

Here are the instructions on how to measure to get the right fit. It’s best if you use a flexible measuring tape to get the right length. If you don't have a fabric measuring tape it's fine, just take a string and get the measurements then place it next to a ruler.

* Pregnant Women need 3 measurements:
1. Across the BACK from the left shoulder to the right hip
2. Wrapping around the body underneath the bust.
3. Wrapping around the body at the bust line (like you would measure for a bra).

* Not pregnant: Just measure across the FRONT of the body from the left shoulder to the right hip. No other measurements are required.

A little bit about me....

I created little Jo-ees because I wanted an inexpensive way to connect with my baby and I didn’t want to carry around a heavy car seat. When I was looking into purchasing a baby sling I realized that other slings were very expensive, and not very fashionable, so I decided to create my own. When I made my first sling a whole new world opened up for me. With a sling I had two hands free to do whatever I wanted. My son was able to take a nice long nap wherever we were. I had more bonding time, and he was less fussy! These slings are so comfortable and versatile! My little Jo-ees baby sling is so easy to take with me anywhere, I can fold it up to be a little bigger than a disposable diaper! My sling is great not only for carrying around my son but I also have used it as a blanket and a cover up for when I am nursing. I proudly wear it everywhere!
As I wore my sling people would stop me, at the grocery store, at the mall, and ask me where I bought it. When I told them I made it myself I was consistently complimented on the workmanship. Women would come up to me and say they had been looking for something like that for so long and wanted to know where they could get one too. I had never realized that so many other people shared the need and desire to bond with their little ones. I decided that something had to be done… I had to share my sling with humanity; and this is how little Jo-ees was born. Now I have been selling my slings by word of mouth since 2009.
